About Laundry Lady Lana

Behind every folded towel and freshly laundered load is a woman who saw a need and chose to meet it with care, intention, and a whole lot of heart. Meet Lana Arnold, founder of Laundry Lady Lana (formerly Happy Hamper), a family-rooted laundry service based in Abingdon, VA and the first of its kind in the area.

Lana started Happy Hamper not just as a business, but as a way to help people feel a little less weighed down by life’s never-ending to-do lists. She knows what it’s like to juggle all the things, and she built this service to be a helping hand for busy families, professionals, and anyone feeling overwhelmed by the simple (but constant) task of laundry.

Services & Pricing

We care for all types of laundry including: daily wear (shirts, pants, undergarments), linens (bed linens, towels, curtains, small rugs/mats - additional costs may apply), baby clothes, and delicates (as per care label). And, we save you money by charging by the pound, not by the load. Your total will be calculated by weight. Guessing the weight can be a little tricky but usually a 13 gallon kitchen bag of laundry (not overstuffed) weighs approximately 15 pounds.

  • Do you clean between each customer?
    Yes, everything is cleaned and sanitized between each customer!

  • How do you handle delicate or specialty items?
    We follow care label instructions and use specialized cleaning techniques. Let us know if an item requires extra care.

  • What areas do you cover?
    We service within a 30 mile radius of Abingdon, covering parts of Washington County, VA (including the cities of Bristol, Abingdon, Damascus, Meadowview, and Glade Spring) and Sullivan County, TN (including the cities of Bristol, Blountville, and Bluff City).

  • Can I drop off my laundry?
    What sets us apart from the rest, we have a drop off option! If it’s easier for you to drop off your laundry while you’re out an about, just swing by and drop off your laundry! We will get your laundry complete as soon as possible. We will coordinate with you on when your laundry is complete, you can either pick up the laundry whenever or we can bring it back to your house! Contact us to see if we have delivery in your area.

  • Can I provide my own detergent or fabric softener?
    Yes, just bring it with your laundry and let us know. (THIS WILL SAVE YOU $3)

  • Is there a minimum order?
    Yes, the minimum is $30. 

  • How do I pay for my order?
    We accept Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, cash, or check.

  • Do I need to separate clothes?
    No, we sort laundry by color and fabric type before washing, but you’re welcome to pre-sort if preferred.

  • Do you put the fitted sheets with the matching flat sheet? 
    Yes! We always match the items appropriately. 

  • Is there a certain time I need to drop off my items? 
    Any time Monday-Saturday! The items can be dropped off on my porch. I have cameras watching the area.

  • Will my clothes be washed with anyone else’s clothes?
    Absolutely not. We sanitize between each customer, even when I do our own laundry!

  • If I do delivery, do I need to be home?
    No, just leave your laundry outside your door and we will handle it! We will notify you when it is completed!
